Three reasons your branding should be made-to-measure

While off the peg can be OK in certain circumstances, when you’re trying to make the right impression and reflect yourself in the best possible way, only a tailored approach will do.

A perfectly fitting suit not only makes you feel more confident and attractive, it also reflects your personality and strengths in an honest and authentic way.

Your company’s logo and branding should do the same. It should be tailored to fit, representing those core values and strengths truthfully and in a way that attracts and engages the right people - customers, staff, investors, even competitors.

Too baggy

Like an oversized suit, a logo that tries to be everything to everyone will appeal to no-one. It shouldn’t be hidden, it needs to accentuate its finer points and portray a genuine image.

Too tight

An ill-conceived logo will restrict your business, making it difficult to adapt or diversify which could result in an expensive rebrand. The key here is to identifying a constant that is unlikely to change over the long term. For example, your height or shoe size is unlikely to change much over the years, but your waistline might need some flex.

Too flashy

Don’t dress up your business as something it isn’t, just because it might seem the flavour of the month or fashionable at the time of launch / re-launch. Save the dressing up for Halloween or themed parties. The way you fit your branding and house style to your business needs to be timeless, serious and professional.
